Kenya AA — Specialty Grade
GACHAMI AA
SL28 & SL34 — Kenya's Benchmark Varieties
SL28 and SL34 are Scott Laboratory selections developed in the 1930s that define Kenya's coffee identity. SL28 thrives at higher altitudes and contributes blackcurrant and citrus intensity, while SL34 adds floral complexity and full body. Together they produce the vibrant acidity and sweetness Kenya AA is world-renowned for.
Origin & Processing
Gachami Factory · Baragwi FCS
Established in 1978, Gachami Factory is a cornerstone of quality within the Baragwi FCS network. Located in Kirinyaga County, between the slopes of Mt. Kenya and the Mwea rice plains, Gachami processes approximately 150 metric tonnes of cherry annually from surrounding smallholder farms. Gachami employs a traditional Kenya-style washed process with double fermentation, utilizing fresh water sourced from local rivers. Cherries are hand-harvested, carefully sorted, and depulped using an Agaarde disc pulper.
