SL28 & SL34 — Kenya's Benchmark Varieties

SL28 and SL34 are Scott Laboratory selections developed in the 1930s that define Kenya's coffee identity. SL28 thrives at higher altitudes and contributes blackcurrant and citrus intensity, while SL34 adds floral complexity and full body. Together they produce the vibrant acidity and sweetness Kenya AA is world-renowned for.

Origin & Processing

Kiangundo Factory · Kiama FCS

Kiangundo is one of four wet mills operated by the Kiama Coffee Farmers' Cooperative Society in Nyeri County. Located in Karatina, the cooperative represents over 3,000 smallholder farmers. Kiangundo serves 690 members whose farms span elevations between 1,700 and 1,950 MASL. The area's rich volcanic soil and cool, high-elevation climate enable slow cherry maturation, promoting dense beans and vibrant acidity. The cooperative was established in 2005 and is committed to quality control and long-term sustainability.
